In 1992, Todd and his young family moved to Southwest Virginia to start his own business, Signs Work. His handcrafted custom signs enhanced hundreds of businesses, institutions and private properties over 17 years. Todd returned to fine art in 2006. He was featured in an artist’s opening at the City Gallery, Galax Virginia. He has been painting seriously since then, showing in The Black Rooster Gallery at the General Francis Hotel, Marion; Crossroads Art Center, Richmond; New River Fine Arts Center, Pulaski; WVTF/Juried Show, Roanoke; Davis Bourne Inn, Independence; Treasure Potts II, Fancy Gap/Blue Ridge Parkway; Blowfish Emporium, Bristol and the Virginia Artists’ Show at the Virginia General Assembly Building, Richmond in January to March 2010.
In 2004, Todd was commissioned to design the Blue Ridge Veterans Memorial Complex in Galax, Virginia. He is a member of ‘Round the Mountain, southwest Virginia’s artisan network.
Starting in February 2010, Todd will be an art instructor at the Chestnut Creek School of the Arts in Galax.
